Top performance on the basketball court requires consistent nutritional habits. While exercising, your nutrition is providing the body with the nutrients and hydration to have the best performance level. A hydration beverage such as Gatorade or Powerade with sodium helps retain fluids consumed, replace sodium lost in sweat, and stimulates thirst. Water acts as your body’s natural cooling system, however, sports drinks are also a good choice if you play team sports like basketball. Here at Marathon Basketball, we want our players to be complete basketball players on and off the court. This means taking care of your body outside of training, to maximize your full potential. We understand educating players, establishing good eating and hydration habits is critical. This education will help players to arrive prepared, perform, and recover from a practice, training, or competition. No matter the age or basketball level valuing your diet is important to all athletes. Upon request, have our Certified Dietician, Mr. Jeffrey E. Brown design you a specialized diet. This diet is customized to your current height, weight, and eating tendencies.
